Getting to Rarotonga is easy, with regular flights via Air New Zealand from Los Angeles. Flights to Rarotonga are also available from Australia and New Zealand. Virgin Airlines offer flights to and from Australia via its Pacific Blue brand. The International Airport is located close to the main town of Avarua. This quiet, laid-back town is the centre of commerce for the Cook Islands and offers shopping, museum, galleries, cafes and restaurants as well as business offices. Getting around the island is easy with a useful public bus service that runs hourly in both directions. A popular alternative for those wishing to be independent is to hire a scooter. Cars are also available for hire.

While in Rarotonga, enjoy beach activities, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, bike riding, shopping (don't miss the Black Pearls!) and golf. There is also a cross-island hike through the lush interior, which offers beautiful vistas of the Pacific Ocean and beyond.
